...remembering and grounding - an Ancestral abode

All praises to the ancestral mother, Pomba Gira

As a result of patriarchy, there is a feeling of safety and protection around land exploitation. I was talking to someone recently about Trump and international relations and they said, "I'm all for drilling American soil" for America's liberation (whatever tf that is lol and no, they are not Trump supporters). No matter how annoying this is, I give grace because we are not typically taught to be considerate of the land...

Due to the commodification of spirituality, there is also safety and comfort around the concept of grounding. It is often reduced to the avarice of all this New Age stuff.

...when simply "putting your feet in the soil" is the last spoon you have.

And that is all the power you need...

No, this is not the "mimosas in swimming pools, downward facing dog, and singing bowls" kind of thing. It's easy to gravitate to that - the properties of the earth that are digestible, abundant, stable, maternal, and benevolent.

But just like water, Earth is a primordial energy. It is a chaotic cyclical multitude of nurturance.

The Earth waxes and wanes between fruitfulness and barrenness.

We are alive with breath in our bodies while our loved ones are surreal and hallow, decaying beneath the soil. Earth is in a constant dance of liminal tending of life,

and death.

The next time you reach a breaking point or period of transition, and you need to sleep on the ground or put your feet in the soil...

remember this power.

Join me in Sensual Spirit where you remember to drop your shoulders and hone your sensual power with self-pleasure through the earth, water, air, and fire.
